About the Visual Traceroute Tool

The Visual Traceroute tool will check the route that data takes between your specified domain or IP address and the DomainMapper server. Select the 'Full Trace' option above to include the route between your computer and this server as well. This tool identifies the IP addresses of the intermediate routers, or 'hops', and uses publically available geo-location data to estimate their approximate physical location.

Intermediate relay routers that do not respond with their IP address when probed are classed as unresponsive. Display of these can be toggled using the above options.

If you are having connection issues, then this tool can allow you to see which intermediate step is acting as the bottleneck. Use the other available tools to probe individual routers for more information.
